Happy Birthday. To me.
On birthdays we should spend time doing what we love. I love to photograph people like you!!
All sessions booked on my birthday receive a free 11x14 fibre print ($300 value).
At midnight this deal turns into a pumpkin.
Now where'd I put that cake . . .

Family Photography - St. John's Newfoundland Photographer
These were a fun bunch with some very photogenic kids.
To answer the question - I DO use reflectors and other light modifiers. Here we are using it as a spaceship. (see it on the bottom?)

Family wrestle. :)
This next one was a case of an out take becoming a star.
The rest are Holga and Tri-x @ 800.

So many cats around my house. I love them all and will eventually get them all - on film!

Lost sessions - St. John's Newfoundland family photographer
Some sessions don't get blogged. Maybe I didn't get the negatives scanned to cd, maybe I scanned them at home and put them in a computer file only to forget, maybe I have the negatives in a paper folder meaning to scan them . . . Whatever the reason I am going to get through some of these sessions so that I may file these negatives away for long term storage.
First up is a newborn baby belonged to my friend Kim whose maternity session was featured here.

I didn't love the family photo of this session nearly as much as the 6 month later extended family photo, recently shared here on the blog.

So many cameras. St. John's Newfoundland Photographer
How many cameras do I bring on a session? Minimum 3. When you shoot film there are no photoshop filters to help you achieve the look you want. Different cameras have different personalities and produce very different results.
A sweet girl first with Holga + Tri-x @ 1600 and then with Bronica + Tri-x @ 800.
And to round it out 35mm with her sister.

Parents were shared in a prior post but here they again. I usually try and shoot a few frames with just the parents and in this case I was thrilled with the results. (Holga + Tri-x @800)

Maternity/Newborn - St. John's Newfoundland photographer
I'm going to catch up on blogging - one session at a time!
There's a cute family and then there's these guys. Adorable!
I'm sharing their Photo Book - so you are seeing the two page spreads as they were printed.
